What is Reiki ?
Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive hands on healing and enlightenment system, used to heal and energise the body, mind, emotions and spirit, offering the experience of deep relaxation, balancing, healing and harmonising. Although Reiki is gentle it is also powerful and has a long history of complimenting other health care and conventional medicine thereby positively improving many illnesses and injuries.
Reiki, (ray-key) can be defined as 'spiritually guided universal life force energy'; the name Reiki originates from the Japanese 'rei', meaning universal and 'ki', meaning energy, the life force; the same as Chi in Chinese and Prana in Sanskrit. Reiki is BEING the energy, using the intuitive power of the Universe. Reiki flows to where it is needed, not only healing symptoms but in many cases healing the root cause, activating the body's own natural ability to heal itself.
Reiki feels wonderful, both giving and receiving, and easy to learn. For details of our training in Spain see Training/Workshops

Everyone! Reiki follows no faith and is not a Religion, therefore does not conflict or interfere with any religious practice or belief system. Reiki is an ancient system of natural healing that is both beneficial and safe to use on adults and children. Animals and plants also respond well to Reiki.
What does it feel like?
Reiki feels wonderful! It is deeply relaxing and revitalising, inducing a feeling of calmness and ease into the body, soothing stress and relieving pain.
Experiences obviously differ from person to person as we are all unique, however, you will feel a deep sense of relaxation and it is not uncommon for people to feel an increase in their energy level and a heightened mental alertness.
Everyone will have their own unique experience, some may have a magical spiritual experience, for someone else, the enormous relief from pain, deep relaxation; some people may simply fall asleep. Many people talk about seeing beautiful colors, feeling heat from the practitioner's hands, sometimes coolness, tingling, sometimes nothing at all.
What can Reiki be used for?
Reiki can be used for relaxation, relieving tension, stress and pain, boosting energy levels, self esteem and confidence, compliments and enhances other health care and conventional medicine positively improving many illnesses and injuries. Reiki works on all levels, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Research studies have shown that Reiki speeds up wound healing time, reduces stress, lowers blood pressure and can be an effective part of pain management.
Through Reiki, emotional and mental blockages can be released and deeper causes of disharmony, depression and unhappiness are often brought to the surface, allowing in depth healing to take place. Suppressed emotions, anger, abuse issues, fears, and phobias all respond well to Reiki. On a physical level Reiki can also reduce muscle pain, headaches, backache, toothache, arthritic pain and can help to ease the withdrawal pain from alcohol and drug abuse. Reiki is known to accelerate the healing of cuts, burns, allergies, broken bones, and can greatly assist in helping to cope with chronic illness like, cancer, fibromyalgia, MS and ME. Reiki has proved beneficial post major surgery and can help to reduce the recovery process by increasing the healing effects of conventional medicine and can also reduce the use of pain medications by diminishing the pain itself.
What happens in a Reiki healing session?
Giving or receiving Reiki is generally a loving, peaceful and joyous experience for both the practitioner and client. Reiki can be given either seated or lying down. Most clients lie on a therapy bed, fully clothed, and find the experience greatly enhanced by closing there eyes. The client is not healed by the practitioner; the healing comes from the 'spiritually guided universal life force energy' which flows through the practitioner's hands, benefiting both client and practitioner. The practitioner will place their hands just above the client, generally working from the head to the toes and letting the 'energy' flow to where it is most needed. Reiki has its own intelligence and knows exactly where to go and what to do. Sometimes the practitioner may be guided to place their hands on the client and in many instances the practitioner's hands will be some distance from the client. The practitioner is always guided by the 'energy' and what is best suited to the client.
